Wallpaper Rolls or Custom-Printed Panels?
Kaleon offers two formats. Our own designs are custom printed in Sydney as panels and murals, in paste-the-wall non-woven or removable peel & stick. The wallcoverings in this collection are sold in standard rolls, with fixed widths and lengths set by the manufacturer.
How to Choose the Right Wallpaper Roll
- Roll width and length: sizes vary by product, so check each listing.
- Pattern repeat: designs with a repeat need extra length per drop; many material wallcoverings have no repeat.
- Material and installation: premium materials such as silk, textile and metal leaf are best installed by a professional.
How Many Wallpaper Rolls Do I Need?
1. Measure the width of the wall and divide it by the roll width to get the number of drops (round up).
2. Add about 10 cm to the wall height for trimming, plus the pattern repeat if there is one. This is the length of each drop.
3. Divide the roll length by the drop length (round down) to see how many drops you get from one roll, then divide the drops needed by that number (round up).
Example: a wall 3.6 m wide and 2.7 m high needs 4 drops of 92 cm, each 2.8 m long. A 12 m roll gives 4 drops, so one roll is enough. With a 7.4 m roll you get 2 drops per roll, so you need 2 rolls.
